It’s almost December and although the only things I really want for Christmas are a washing machine and new MacBook, I do have a bit of a clothes wishlist as well….
These are my current bathers:
I love them but I want to get a second pair for this summer because I go to the beach a lot and it gets boring just wearing the same pair every time.
I really like the idea of high waisted bikini bottoms but I don’t want to buy a pair without trying them on first because I’m not sure how they’ll look, and the only place I can find them to try on is American Apparel. I haven’t been in that store for about two years because the customer service is just so shitty that I really don’t want to go back (not to mention the whole issue of not wanting to buy anything from Dov Charney)….
So I might just be boring and get some retro style black ones like this:

At some point a few years ago I decided I was too old for band t-shirts but I’ve re-thought my stance on that and I really want this Bad Brains shirt:
I haven’t even decided what I’m going to do for New Years Eve but I do know it’s definitely the night to wear something a bit over the top. For example last year I wore this black sequin dress:

Waterfall jacket
I want Jeffrey Campbell Lita boots (who doesn’t) probably in purple with that distressed wooden heel, so amazing! They are sold out of purple in my size on Solestruck but hopefully they will be back in stock soon so I can buy them and clomp around in them all Spring. I want to wear them with dress and tights or with denim shorts. They are also available in silver glitter:
which is kind of tempting but probably just a bit too impracticable.
I have been wanting a pair of dark denim shorts with cuffs at the bottom for at least three months now. In theory they shouldn’t be hard to find, I see girls wearing them all the time…but apparently once you’re looking at anything over a size 16, no shorts are shorter than knee length. And knee length on other people is 3/4 length on me because I’m short. I suppose I could buy a pair of dark jeans and cut them myself but I want more tailored looking ones that aren’t fraying at the bottoms and really I shouldn’t have to! What is this assumption that women over a size 16 want to only wear knee length shorts?! Excuse me, summer in Melbourne gets really freaking hot and also I happen to quite like my thighs so why can’t I buy short shorts?! Apparently Asos go up to a size 18 in their denim shorts so I’ll have to check that out and maybe they’ll fit but this has been really annoying me.
I am also lusting after this TopShop coat:
It’s faux fur leopard, it’s got a hood, it’s even got pom poms! Talk about a dream. I know, I know it’s getting warmer here so now probably isn’t the time for buying fur coats but I love it.
I’ve been watching too many episodes of Heartbreak High lately because I’m on a fairly intense search to find some spaghetti strap floral dresses to wear over white t-shirts and with boots. In case it wasn’t entirely obvious, 90s revival is the best thing that has happened in my (fashion) life so far. I also want some new bathers, possibly a two piece after being inspired by Frances’ amazing bikini post on Corpulent (whatta babe).
And last but not least:
MAC lipstick in Fluid. Yes please.

I’ve been wanting a brown satchel type bag to use as a bag for my MacBook for a while now but I hadn’t seen anything suitable. I was about to pay $70 and order one from Urban Outfitters when a girl I know who works at H&M showed me this one. We don’t have H&M in Australia and they don’t have an online store so my friend is being amazing and has bought me one and is sending it over. I can’t wait to have a proper bag to carry my MacBook in! I’ve been using a canvas Savers bag for way too long now.
I saw these sunglasses on Shop Nasty Gal a while ago and while I was trying to decide if I wanted them, they sold out. Luckily a friend pointed me over to Paola Loves To Shop where not only were they still in stock, but they were also cheaper! I’m checking my letterbox every day waiting for these to arrive.
My birthday is coming up this month so I decided to buy myself an early birthday present. It’s a Fuji FinePix S1800 which is a “bridge camera” – in between a point & shoot and a DSLR which is perfect because I wanted something better than a point & shoot but it’s been a long time since I used my regular SLR and I think I’ve forgotten everything I learned when I studied photography in high school. I ordered it from Digital World International and got it for nearly $100 cheaper than I would have paid in a store here and it shipped really quickly, I’d definitely use them next time I’m buying anything camera related. If you are going to order something from them, just be sure to call first and make sure it’s in stock.
I haven’t had a chance to play with the camera much yet but this is a cute photo of my cat.
I think I want to buy some Creepers, either the plain black ones or maybe the white ones. I tried some on in a second hand store on Smith St a few weeks ago but didn’t buy them and I’ve been regretting it ever since. I’ve seen Chloe Sevigny wearing them with dresses and looking super cute.
I’ve been wanting Docs for a while but i couldn’t decide between white, black or pink. But I think I’ve decided on white. I saw a lot at Camberwell Market this weekend but I figure if I’m going to have to pay $70+ for second hand ones, I might as well just pay a bit more and get new ones.
I think I want this dress and it’s on sale so that should be a sign to buy it, I’m just not sure about the underwire boob bits on it (do these things have a name?!). I’ve tried on a few dresses with those and my boobs are always too big and end up either spilling out the top or being cut in half for that really charming double boob look. I suppose that’s the one downfall about buying online – you never know how it’s going to fit.
I’ve been lusting after these Jeffrey Campbell platforms for weeks now. Once my tax return appears in my bank account I think I have to order them. I just have a weakness for anything animal print these days.
