I skipped posting a few days on here because my work clothes/work bathroom get pretty boring and repetitive after a while. You can see photos from the missing days on my Instagram (bronnyzig). How are you guys going with Fatshion February? So far I’ve only missed photographing one day but taking photos of my work clothes every day is making me hate everything I own and really want to go shopping.

Do you guys remember Fatshion February? I did it last year. The idea comes from this tumblr post by Jessie Dress and you can read more about it on the official Fatshion February tumblr here. Long story short it’s about taking photos of your outfits for each day in February in an attempt to bodies that are generally ‘othered’ more visible. I am participating again and have been posting photos of my daily outfits on tumblr and twitter via Instagram (bronnyzig). I’m going to post them on Fat Aus also but rather than posting on here every day I’ll just do a round-up post every few days. Here are my outfits from the past few days:

February 1st: cardigan – miss shop, pussybow blouse – asos, trousers – tripp via torrid, bag: h&m. This was the first day of my new job and this is about about business-y as my outfits get.

February 2nd: horse print shirt- asos, trousers – tripp via torrid, loafers – vintage, bag – h&m.

February 3rd: dress: c/o dream diva (proper review post on this dress coming soon), sunglasses: karen walker, loafers: vintage.

February 4th: dress – asos, shoes – urban outfitters.

Excuse my bra straps in that last photo, but I think stuff like that is kind of what I like about Fatshion February – these are just every day outfits and you know what, some days I wear a halter neck dress with a regular bra and usually I wouldn’t post that on here but really, so what?! It’s a bit of a warts-and-all thing and I’m sure there will be a lot of boring outfits and repeated outfits through out the month but stuff like that is a bit more ‘real life’ than the idea that bloggers have some kind of never ending supply of new clothes and never wear the same things twice.

I bought these shoes a few months ago and actually forgot all about them until a couple of days ago! I’m still really wanting some proper black and white saddle shoes but maybe these will tide me over for a few weeks. After looking at these photos I think I need to take a couple of darts in the top just under the shoulders, that might be my next attempt-to-sew adventure. I do really like how it’s sheer but not super obviously see through though.

Alright so I’m joining in the millions of other bloggers and doing a 2011 wrap up post. I’ll try to keep it as short as possible since I’m guessing you have all read about 400 of these by now. 2011 was a pretty mixed year for me after being made redundant at my job early in the year, I’m still trying to find my feet job-wise and it’s tough. In other ways it was pretty great though – my boyfriend and I celebrated out 3rd anniversary which was a nice milestone, I did a bit of freelance writing (for a website that hasn’t launched just yet) which is something I’d like to do more of in the new year, and I’m really proud of how FAT AUS has grown since it’s first birthday (blog birthday? I’m still working on my personal resolutions but blog-wise there’s a lot of things I’d like to do in 2012. Most of all I’d like to be a bit more consistent, do the Heaps Cool Stuff posts on a set day each week, try to post one or two outfit posts a week, do an Instagram post every couple of weeks and maybe make the Heaps Cool Bloggers post a semi-regular thing. I’m currently working on a ‘Meet The Sponsors’ post to give my advertisers/sponsors a chance to talk a bit about their shops/blogs and hopefully you guys will enjoy reading about them. I might do a couple of other regular features if I can think of some that I’d like to write/that I think you guys would enjoy reading. I’m definitely open to any thoughts/suggestions you guys have regarding how to make FAT AUS a better blog.

I would like to thank each and every one of you who come and read my blog, I do really appreciate every single one of you and I love getting your comments, emails, messages on tumblr, tweets etc. I am really pleased by how well this blog is doing after a little over a year, I never thought my little blog would become this widely read! I hope you all had a great New Year and I hope 2012 is awesome xx
