Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!

Hey babes, I hope you’re all having a nice December! I’ve been out at my boyfriend’s parents’ house in the country with no phone and no internet for the past few days so I’m pretty behind on the whole blogging thing but I have been having a nice time going on picnics and hanging out with kitties and sheep. I’ll be back in the city in a day or two so things on Fat Aus will be back to normal then but in the mean time you’ve still got a few hours to enter the awesome JezzyBelles giveaway for this gorgeous bangle:

And be sure to go have a look at the JezzyBelles shop because there’s a big sale going on! Happy New Year babes xx

Heaps Cool Stuff

Heaps Cool Stuff

Harrod Blank has devoted his life to created Art Cars. He runs an Art Car agency and owns an Art Car museum and some of them are pretty cool.

The 45 Most Powerful Images of 2011. This one is of a woman in China who tried to commit suicide by jumping from a window after her fiance left her but as she jumped a man caught her and she was pulled back to safety.

DJ Cat Scratch Turn Table. I think I need to buy this for my cats for Christmas.

DIY Candy Lights from Oh Happy Day! Too cute.

Did you guys know the Easter Island heads have bodies?! I told my boyfriend this and he was like ‘um yes, everyone knows that”, but I didn’t so I thought maybe some of you guys didn’t either.

I’m in love with these photos of Diane Von Furstenberg’s office in 1983. Why wasn’t I a successful business lady in the 80′s with an office to decorate like this?

I thought this was pretty cool! Kelly from Elegantly Academic pointed out to me that there’s a photo of me on this ModCloth office inspiration board (from a feature on ModCloth from The Glitter Guide). I’m in the middle of the second row wearing a blue jacket and orange dress which you can see in this Fat Aus post from August.

Sick of the holiday cards in stores this year? Why not download some cute kitty holidays cards courtesy of Lost In The Haze.

Inside Courtney Love’s (or if, like me, you spent the better part of your teen years racking up 1000′s of posts on a Hole message board you might know her more affectionately as Corky or Glammy Skank) NYC townhouse. Love her or hate her, you have to admit the babe has got TASTE.

Not sure what to make for dinner? My Fridge Food solves all your problems – you simply enter in the food you have in your fridge/cupboards and it will let you know what recipes you can make!

Instagram!

Instagram!

I’ve been getting pretty into Instagram lately so I thought I’d share some of my recent photos with you guys. If anyone wants to add me on it, my username is bronnyzig

Here is an enormous zucchini Tom grew in his garden

If you’re a long time reader of Fat Aus you might remember Tom’s dragon shirt from last year. I hate it so much that he only wears it once a year on his birthday.

tidying up my bedroom

I discovered Dan Aykroyd’s Crystal Head vodka in Dan Murphy’s. I haven’t tried it so I don’t know if it’s worth the $80 price tag but if you have, let me know how it is.

Is it just me or does the front-facing camera on iPhones make everyone look kind of strange?

Zigmond’s new favourite spot – the ironing board.

And don’t forget to enter the Fat Aus/JezzyBelles giveaway!

JezzyBelles Giveaway!

JezzyBelles Giveaway!

Hey babes, so my girl Deb who runs the awesome JezzyBelles shop is offering up this gorgeous carved celluloid bangle valued at $200 to one lucky Fat Aus reader!

Deb says it was made in Japan as it is stamped Japan on the reverse, it is carved with a large chrysanthemum in the center, flanked with sweet little daisies, and it is in excellent condition! Finding a celluloid bangle like this in such great condition is rare, as celluloid is more prone to breakage and damage than lucite and bakelite. I love it and whoever wins this is going to be super lucky. You can see some more photos of it here.

So here’s how to enter:

- you need to comment on this post with your email address and you need to be following Fat Aus via Bloglovin or Google or RSS etc
- for an additional entry follow @jezzy_belles on twitter and let me know your twitter username
- for another additional entry ‘like’ JezzyBelles on facebook and let me know your facebook name

This giveaway is open to readers in all countries and will run for three weeks, ending on Friday December 30th.

Heaps Cool Stuff: Bloggers Edition

Heaps Cool Stuff: Bloggers Edition

Instead of my usual Heaps Cool Stuff links post this week I thought I would share with you guys some Heaps Cool Bloggers. I tried to select bloggers who I haven’t mentioned/linked to on Fat Aus before so hopefully I’ll be sharing some new blogs that you might not have read. If you think I’ve left you out, I’m sure I do love your blog but I’ve probably mentioned you before! In no particular order here are some Heaps Cool Blogs/Bloggers:

DANIELLE TICE. I actually used to read Danielle’s Livejournal a million years ago so I was really excited when I stumbled across her blog. She takes awesome photos (which you can buy prints of at fordearlife.org), the photos of her recent wedding are adorable and she is a really talented writer.

LIGHTNING HEART. Phebe Rendulic runs Lightning Heart and I can’t believe I haven’t been reading her blog for years because she is amazing. She’s an Aussie (she lives in Adelaide), a photographer (buy her work here), is in a band (Radio Spectacular) and wears great outfits. I pretty much wish she lived in Melbourne so we could hang out.

HOUSE OF HUMBLE is a blog by Katie and Reuben, a 20-something couple who earlier this year packed up their inner-city life in Sydney to moved out to country Victoria. They knit (yes, both of them. Reuben actually wrote a post about being a man who knits) and garden and refurnish old furniture and basically make me hate my life and want to run away to live in the country (but in a good way!).

PUSSYBOW. You might know Jen from her tumblr or her old/now defunct blog (bigsuitblog). I love her style, she seriously looks incredible in every single photo. She’s actually selling a bunch of her vintage clothes on her blog right now so if you like her style too you can always buy something.

FLESH AND COLOURS is a personal blog by Jessica who is a fellow Melbournian. She takes photos of awesome stuff like The Tyabb Packing House (gotta go there asap) and delicious food and bands.

NAOMI SHIMADA. You might know Naomi as that babely ASOS Curve model (I find myself wanting to buy every single thing she models) but you might not know that she has her own blog where she posts cute photos of herself making a carrot cake or dressing up as a leopard.

THE SWIRL AND SWING. Sonya is an awesome babe. A fellow Australian, she studies journalism and PR (she has interned at both Madison and Cleo magazines) and she takes really beautiful photos of her life.

NO FUTVRE. I don’t even know how to describe Stina apart from DREAM BABE. I love her style so much. Her’s was one of the first blogs I read when I started blogging and I swear her style just gets better and better.

AIN’T SO SERIOUS. Yeliz is (another) Aussie (I love Aussie bloggers, ok) but right now she’s traveling so you can see a lot of gorgeous photos from Paris and Istanbul. She also writes a fashion blog and I really love her personal style.

LOVE ONCE LOVE AGAIN
is the photo journal of Gem, another Australian babe. She takes photos of her daily life, for her up-coming shop/gallery A Pretty Piece and you can also find her being awesome on tumblr.

loafers: vintage, sunglasses: karen walker, trousers: tripp, jumper: little lost land

After we took normal outfit photos Tom decided we should play catch with the lemons that had fallen off my neighbours’ tree into our yard and this happened:
