OK, first things first – ASOS are having a 48 hr 50% off sale right now! It’s 50% off lots of new season stuff and some sale items. I am about to go have a look and probably buy a ridiculous amount of stuff so I thought you guys might want to as well.
jeans: city chic (pegged by me), leather jacket: via angry young and poor, courtney love badges: etsy, cat flag shirt:sleazy seagull, nail polish: china glaze.
Normally I wouldn’t bother posting a jeans and t-shirt outfit but I had to make an exception for this Cat Flag shirt. I wore it to the shops the other day and this 50 yr old dude yelled out to me ‘I love cats too!’ and gave me a thumbs up. It was awesome. (Please excuse my been awake since 5am and about to fall asleep face).
In 1968 Finnish architect Matti Suuronen designed these UFO-looking houses thinking they could be used as holiday homes. They’re light and compact enough that they can be easily moved via helicopter and back in 1968 apparently everybody thought the idea of living as nomads in weird pods was an awesome idea. Obviously it didn’t really take off but there are still a few of these Futuro Houses scattered around the globe, including one somewhere in Adelaide, Australia! I want to go find it. You can read all about them here or here (I prefer this link for the awesome early 90s Geocities vibes).
The contents of Elvis’s wallet at the time of his death.
In 1971 while drilling in the Turkmenistan village of Derweze geologists discovered a cavern filled with natural gas. They set it on fire to prevent the poisonous gas killing everything nearby, expecting it would burn for only a few days but 40 years later, it’s still going.
I love this photo of Debbie Harry and Joey Ramone taken by Roberta Bayley in 1977.
Now I’m pretty sure I’ve told you guys to read my friend Sara’s awesome blog Cartoon Heart but this is her super amazing band. They’re a Cock Sparrer tribute band and they are so good. Even if you have never heard of Cock Sparrer or don’t like punk rock you’ll still be able to enjoy them.
This apartment in Paris was left untouched for 70 years! The woman who owned it left for the South of France after WWII and never returned but paid rent up until she died last year. Inside the apartment was a painting worth millions of dollars!
dress: black friday, coat: topshop, tights: myer, sunglasses: karen walker, boots: ASOS (I think the ones I’m wearing are out of stock but these ones are nearly identical)
He looks all sweet and innocent but this was just after Garfield hit me in the face!

So here’s a proper look at my red hair and a little half look at Tom’s new veggie garden (hence the watering can). I got some blonde hair extensions and dyed them to match my hair because I missed having fake long hair.
Hey guys, so hopefully you won’t hate me for this but here is a blog update comprised solely of photos from PhotoBooth because my boyfriend/photographer is out of town and I can’t be bothered doing the whole self photography thing or making my housemate take photos. But here are so things that happened this weekend.
I accidentally started smoking again (oops!) and I dyed my hair while wearing my really fashionable dressing gown.
So now my hair is red and Maloney and I are fellow gingers.
I put on some floral Sally Hansen nail strips.
And after complaining about how sick of hearing about ‘colour blocking’ I am, I accidentally did it today. But whatever, I mean it’s just wearing different colours for God’s sake.
I’m always posting awesome DIYs that I wish I could do but probably won’t ever do because I have zero creative talents but I think that even I could manage making something following my buddy Tanie’s space shirt tutorial. I kind of want to try it out on a pair of black suede wedges I’ve got…
Everything about Elsa Billgren’s blog is adorable so it’s not surprising that her make up video is one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen.
Dani from Pop Culture Major has got me all excited about the return of Pop Up Video! And while we’re talking about Pop Culture Major make sure you check out these photos of Nicki Minaj sitting next to her new bff Anna Wintour at the Carolina Herrara runway show because they’re cracking me up.
This Kim Jungwoo alarm clock won’t turn off until you smile at all. Cool, but I would probably throw it across the room after a day or two.
As you might have already heard ASOS Australia launched today! The Aussie version of the site looks basically identical to the original just with Australian sizing, the default currency set as Australian dollars and they are now offering local returns. Standard postage is still free and as far as I can see all the items for sale on the regular ASOS site are the same on the ASOS Australia site. My only complaint is that the option to refine your search by size isn’t available but I’m hoping that they’re planning on adding that soon (I’m guessing they will since they have it on the original site). Since I was having a look at the site anyway I thought I might as well make a little wishlist:
Just one thing to remember – the website is asos.com/au, not .au which was confusing me earlier today haha. And ASOS are celebrating London Fashion Week by offering 20% all full price stock with the code HAPPYLFW so we can use that code to celebrate the launch of ASOS Australia and get some bargains!
In the interest of full disclosure – I am signed up to the ASOS Affiliates program which means that if you click through to ASOS from a link on FAT AUS and buy something I get a small commission. If you’ve been reading FAT AUS for a while you probably have noticed that I buy a lot of things from ASOS and have often linked to them in wishlist posts etc which is why I think this is a program I can participate in without losing my integrity. I wouldn’t encourage anyone to buy from a shop that I wasn’t personally a fan of and hadn’t had good experiences with myself.
