December Wishlist

December Wishlist

It’s almost December and although the only things I really want for Christmas are a washing machine and new MacBook, I do have a bit of a clothes wishlist as well….

These are my current bathers:

red JETS by Jessika Allen ones

I love them but I want to get a second pair for this summer because I go to the beach a lot and it gets boring just wearing the same pair every time.

I really like the idea of high waisted bikini bottoms but I don’t want to buy a pair without trying them on first because I’m not sure how they’ll look, and the only place I can find them to try on is American Apparel. I haven’t been in that store for about two years because the customer service is just so shitty that I really don’t want to go back (not to mention the whole issue of not wanting to buy anything from Dov Charney)….

So I might just be boring and get some retro style black ones like this:

I’m also really loving this Black Milk swim suit:

And these Galaxy leggings also from Black Milk (my boyfriend has a degree in astrophysics and I think that’s starting to rub off on me)

At some point a few years ago I decided I was too old for band t-shirts but I’ve re-thought my stance on that and I really want this Bad Brains shirt:

I haven’t even decided what I’m going to do for New Years Eve but I do know it’s definitely the night to wear something a bit over the top. For example last year I wore this black sequin dress:

So this year I’m kind of thinking about buying this dress:

And these are probably not very weather-appropriate but I’m also loving:

Letterman’s jacket

Black velvet shorts

Towels.

Towels.

I wore this outfit to go and see TOWELS play last night. They were amazing. It was really humid but rainy weather which totally fucked with hair so try to excuse that.

Crop Tops

Crop Tops

Are you guys sick of this whole using-photobooth-to-blog thing I’ve been doing lately? ME TOO! I actually just took a bunch of photos with my camera and then realised I don’t know where the cord for it is. Hopefully I’ve just left it at someone’s house and I’ll be back to proper photos next time. But for now photobooth will have to do.

dress (as skirt): silence & noise, top: cotton on, jacket: op shop, sunglasses: can’t remember, nail polish:napoleon ‘chandelier’I'd been wanting a grey crop top to wear over this dress for SO long and when I went to the mall on Friday I not only found one, but it was on sale. I also got this dress on sale and I am in love with it:

It’s got little seagulls all over it and cute frills up the top and it was from Tokito. Get ready to see a lot of photos of me wearing this all summer. And please excuse my messy bedroom, I’m in the middle of tidying/re-organising everything.

Also I’m about to start messing with my blog layout and adding some more blogs to my blog roll list on the side so if you’ve got FAT AUS on yours and/or want me to add you to my blog roll please let me know (unless your blog is dedicated to weight loss because sorry dudes, I’m not interested in reading that). I’ve just started using Disqus for my comments so I can actually reply to people (since blogger is a jerk and doesn’t allow that) so the comment page might look a bit different, but better!

Hair

Hair

I’ve been getting so many compliments on my hair lately and it’s because I’ve recently discovered the BEST products I’ve ever used. I’m not wearing a very blog-worthy outfit today so instead join me on a journey through my hair from the past year so you’ll understand exactly how dry and damaged my hair was and then I’ll tell how it’s looking so good now.

About a year ago I had long dark brown hair that was in fairly good condition. It wasn’t awesome but it was pretty good.

I shaved half my head

Then bleached one side blonde

Then I got sick of the shaved bit and flipped my hair over to cover it while it grew out

Got bored of being a brunette and dyed my hair red

Decided to act like a 15 year old again and dyed my hair really bright red. This lasted about two days.

So I dyed it dark red again.

Then I faded it to light red

And dyed the ends brighter red

Finally a couple of months ago I was into the ombre thing so I bleached my ends and dyed the top of hair brown. You can see in this photo how dry and gross my ends were. I was using shampoo and conditioner designed for dry/damaged hair (I tried a million different brands, both expensive and cheaper stuff), hair repairing treatments, detangling sprays and leave in conditioners. I didn’t straighten it or curl it and I barely ever blow dried it but it still felt and looked damaged.

When I got my extensions they were silky smooth but after a couple of washes with the stuff I was using even they were starting to feel dried out as well so I decided to change products.

Last week I was in Priceline and came across a line of products from a UK brand called Scandalous. They actually caught my eye because of the ‘Big & Beautiful’ written along the top haha. I bought the Volumising Shampoo, Volumising Conditioner and Intensively Glossy Rescue Treatment:

And seriously look at how good my hair looks:

No leave in conditioner, no de-tangling spray just washed and air dried/blow dried. It feels silky and soft and it looks shiny and awesome. I realise I sound like a commercial but seriously, I would do commercials for them because I am so happy to have nice hair again. I don’t know if it really does much in terms of volumising but who cares! If you’re hating on your hair use this brand guys, it’s amazing.

Kitchen Hang

Kitchen Hang

jeggings: target, shoes: therapy, t-shirt: truly madly deeply, cat: ziggy.

Lately when I’m going out and actually wearing a cute outfit I’ve been either forgetting my camera or having too much fun to bother with taking photos so instead these are ones of me dressed super casually hanging out with my cat in my kitchen.I have a bit of an obsession with eyebrows. They’re the first thing I notice about people and I over-plucked mine when I was younger so they’re pretty thin/weird and I really don’t like them. So after however many years of being insecure about my eyebrows I decided it was time to do something about it and bought Brows-A-Go-Go from Benefit:

I love it so much! I can’t believe the difference it makes and I actually kind of like my eyebrows with this stuff on. I’m only a beginner so please excuse me if they don’t look perfect but here’s an example:
